nitroii - going back to london.

to celebrate 10 months since this short but sweet compilation ep came out, what better way to do so than a remaster on a shiny new netlabel?

these are tracks that featured on compilations, featured on albums i don't want anyone to hear, tracks that i 'remixed' in a rush, that i made for mixes, that are on ocularist albums... but it's not so bad! if you put these things together in the right order they will sound good and that is a promise. with that being said please enjoy

cyberian shirayuki - ethereal heartbreak.

cyberian shirayuki steps into the room - the mood is immediately lifted and a cavalcade of nostalgic melodies and bouncy breaks are unleashed onto every occupant of that room. this is what listening to 'ethereal heartbreak' will feel like. it's a short but sweet mini-album that gives a nod to the modern drum n bass scene of today, with its memorable melodic loops and plugin-infused amen breaks, which are repeated over the course of the track, layered multiple times with further amen goodness.

it goes without saying that this mini-album may not appeal as much to fans of those like drop the lime or shitmat or venetian snares - this is a much more relaxed album - but hey, that's the beauty of it!

various artists - south england hate club: sampler 2.

a month has passed since the establishment of south england hate club, and not much has happened. that all changes now, with the first sampler - a 77 minute long barrage of every breakcore and jungle sub-genre you can think of, all smashed into this album (with an additional sprinkle of shitcore, noise, and plunderphonics).

we guarantee that you will not be the same after this album; please watch out for tracks by dj abelmoschus esculentus, antipater, dj smoke alarm, transit trajectory, slow sam, and lneheb - enduring especially these insane thumping tracks up to the end of the album will render you a different person to who you were 77 minutes ago. proceed with caution, because this album is fucking awesome!

dougLock - DL (EP).

the dl ep is everything the elderly would want breakcore to be. harmonic and uplifting samples with drum breaks that, unlike the releases before this one, won't destroy your ears. it's a lighthearted release that at times has you forgetting that you're laid in your bed or sat on your couch and instead has you thinking you're floating somewhere up in the clouds.

imogen heap plays a huge role in this ep, appearing on almost all the tracks; in some, pitched up to create that happy hardcore/gabber vibe, in some, chopped up and rearranged to create that digital hardcore/shitcore vibe. made in just 4 days, it's a great listen with mid-2000s samples galore.

tl;dr: douglock gives imogen heap a run for her money with their first release on the south england hate club label.
